From 'Twilight' to spotlight: Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick steals show at awards

She was once better known for playing the quirky friend of Kristen Stewart's character in the background of the Twilight movies. But following her Oscar nomination for Up In the Air, Anna Kendrick has moved firmly into the spotlight.

That much was clear as she put in a stunning appearance at the Costume Guild Awards in Beverley Hills.

The brunette beauty, who appears opposite George Clooney in the film which put her in the running for an Academy Award, was gorgeous in a white strapless gown adorned with annular applique and crystals by Elie Saab Haute Couture.

Anna joined a host of glamorous ladies at the annual award ceremony. Among them were True Blood beauty Anna Paquin, in a marble-effect mini, and Nicole Kidman - who was on presenting duty.

And it was a special night for Young Victoria actress Emily Blunt. The British star was given the Swarovski award, which spotlights exceptional talent and the prospect of a sparkling career ahead.
